Take Action Now - Request A
Proclamation - City Mayors City Mayor Action List This is the third of our Take Action Now updates. It contains a step by step process to follow to request a Confederate Heritage Month Proclamation from your City Mayor. If you already have contacts or have obtained a Proclamation before, then follow your previous methods. This page is to provide assistance where we are starting from the beginning. Step 1. Check the city that you will make the request to from the menu below. We have information on many of the cities in Georgia. If yours is missing, please get the contact information for the City Mayor and Council - if there is one (some counties have combined city/county governments). Forward this information to the following email address: Proclamations@ConfederateHeritageMonth and we will add to the list. Also check the County Commission Chairman (available now) and County Commission (available now). Step 2. If you city is on the menu select it and click the take action button. This will take you to a login form and then walk you though formatting a request letter to your Mayor. Step 3. If there are corrections needed or specific historical references that should be made to the sample proclamation select the edit feature and make the changes. Be sure and verify the name of the Mayor. We have made every effort to get current information, but need your help to verify that it is current. Send any corrections to us so that we can update the list. Step 4. Email the letter to yourself, or cut & paste it from the preview at the bottom of the page into a word processing package on your system. Step 5. Print the letter and deliver in person if possible. If you can not deliver the letter, send it by mail. To use Letter Wizard select Mayor from menu - then click Take Action button. Step 6. Please notify the Confederate Heritage Month Committee by sending a message to Proclamations@ConfederateHeritageMonth.com, include your Camp # and the city that you are making the request to. We will be building a list of what Camp is working on each of the several hundred cities in Georgia as we try to get a Proclamation from every one this year. Step 7. Signup for the update list below, we will be adding a similar page for making requests to County Commission Chairman, County Commission and City Councils. Our ancestors deserve to be recognized, even in these days of political correctness. It is our duty to make the effort to get every county and city in Georgia to issue a Confederate Heritage Month Proclamation in their honor. Success is in your hands and the Confederate Heritage Committee is here to help in any way we can. Additional Assistance:
