Franklin bans Confederate Flags and even Muskets!

Political Correctness Run Amok! Franklin History department - Closed For Rewriting

This recent action by the city of Franklin exposes the mentality of the politically correct. Use the power of elected office and the tax payers money to force their agenda upon the citizens!

Franklin of course wants your tourist dollars too and will try to get you to come to "Historic Franklin."

Just another step in not only rewriting our history but an obvious desecration of veterans. Not to mention stupid!

No muskets! What kind of Police Chief is afraid of black power antique firearms?

Well aim your musket fire at these poor excuses of elected officials:

Aim your musket and cannon fire here:

More examples of what a lack of political competition does for the quality (or lack of) of government. Perhaps we need less Republicans and Democrats - they seem to be out of touch with reality these days.

Mayor: No Confederate flags allowed at Battle of Franklin commemoration

Franklin Mayor Tom Miller says he does not want Confederate flags to be flown during a commemoration of the upcoming 1864 Battle of Franklin anniversary.

Calling the flag an "anathema" to some, Miller said his decision would likely be criticized by others.

The ceremony would also be without antique rifles because of concerns expressed by Police Chief Jackie Moore regarding safety.

Meanwhile, the location of the ceremony on the Franklin square is a sticking point for City Administrator Jay Johnson. He had pushed to hold the ceremony on the former Country Club of Franklin property, which private donors helped the city purchase for $5 million last year because of its significance to the 1864 battle.

During a committee meeting last night, Franklin aldermen gave their initial support to spending $5,000 on the ceremony. Aside from funding, ceremony organizers still need a permit to close the square to traffic.
