War Service 1861 Col. of 1st Louisiana, August 1861 Brig. Gen., commanded Dept of Texas, District of West Louisiana and Texas, District of Texas and Territory of Arizona, fought only at Milliken's Bend, commanded the Trans Mississippi at the end of the War.

Died in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, La., August 29, 1880. Original interment at St. Paul's Cemetery, Bayou Goula, La.; reinterment at St. Raphael's Cemetery, Near Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, La.
